Baptism of Noah at St John’s – the 6th generation to be baptised at that font!

Fr Michael presided at  the baptism of Noah Niland on the morning of 29 July 2023.  Noah is the sixth generation to be baptised at that font. He is a descendent of the O’Brien family who lived at 3 Court, Henry Street, which was just off Milkstone Road.

The font where Noah was baptised was originally in the old church and is where Alice Ingham was baptised in 1830. Alice was the founder,  of the Franciscan Missionaries of St Joseph, Sr Noel’s order.

On 28th July St John’s celebrated 100 years since the foundation stone to the new church was laid by Bishop Casartelli on 28 July 1923. Noah‘s baptism, 100 years and one day later, marks the beginning of the next century of St John’s.
