As part of our Heritage Activities we are gathering stories about St John the Baptist R.C. Church. We are interested in hearing from the people who have worshipped or visited the church, past and present.
We hope to capture people’s personal and family experiences, important events as well as their opinions of the church and its role in their lives.
Many visitors tell us of their connection to the church and what it meant to them, what their experiences and memories of the church are. First-time visitors (some of faith others not) often remark about the fact that they have seen the church as a local landmark and how pleased they have been to be welcomed in and see and hear first-hand the church’s place in the community.
We have heard so many interesting stories that we know have sparked memories in others, that we would like to collect these and have them displayed on the page ‘Stories’. A number of people, for example, have told us about their favourite memory of attending church which celebrations they attended, the people they knew, and much more.
