Sharing Stories

St. John the Baptist Church is participating in the Stories We Tell: Rochdale project, which looks at what has changed, what has remained. St John’s has played a pivotal role in the life of the local community, its people and its building hold a wealth of memories and stories ,  which form part of the wider picture of the town.

The Stories We Tell project is An immersive night-time walk through the streets of Rochdale, where light, sound and film bring local residents’ stories to life.

Using immersive 360° binaural audio through headphones, local voices will guide its audience through familiar streets, while magical projections transform buildings , revealing hidden histories, personal memories and moments that have shaped the town.

With each step, sound and light unravel layers of stories, woven together to celebrate Rochdale’s past, present and future.

Rochdale’s streets will once again become a tapestry of stories through immersive binaural sound, archival images and videos contributed by residents, window displays and projections.

Real stories shared by the people who shape this town every day
